Fernando Galvez Soto

Fernando is a Law Clerk at Contreras Edin Law, PA. The range of his responsibilities has varied, as he began performing administrative tasks as a Legal Assistant. Today, his tasks range from handling files for different clients to filing and preparing documents before the United States Immigration Court, and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services -USCIS-.

Born in Guatemala, Fernando graduated as a Lawyer and Notary Public in that country in 2019. Prior to graduating as a professional, he performed Pro-Bono work in his home country to help low-income people solve legal problems related to labor, family, migration, and civil law matters. After obtaining his professional degrees, he spent two years of his life working as a Civil Litigation Lawyer and drafting corporate contracts in a law firm.

In 2021, Fernando received a scholarship to pursue a Master of Laws -LLM- degree in American Law at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. A year later, in 2022, he graduated from that institution and was hired to work at Contreras Edin Law.

Currently, Fernando plans to take the bar exam in New York to become a certified lawyer in the United States of America. His goal is, and will always be, to help all those seeking justice and a better life. The drive to change the lives of those in need is always present within him, especially when the experience of practicing his profession internationally has allowed him to confirm that injustice is a universal issue, no matter where you come from, or where you go.

In his free time, Fernando is a fitness enthusiast; he loves to engage in outdoor activities and, above all, play soccer. When the weather in Minnesota traps him indoors, he loves to stay at home playing acoustic and/or electric guitar, as Heavy Metal is another one of his passions.
